What We Do
Dirt City Music Association is an unincorporated 501(c)(3) association. In simple terms, we raise money to help support projects in our community that involve music education. We also support Dirt City Radio, a non-commercial web based radio station that promotes and preserves the heritage and legacy of Texas Music. We work to recycle instruments and are building a large endowment fund with Texas Tech University that will support music and art students for years to come.
Instrument Recycling
A simple program, we find unwanted instruments and work to make them useful again. When possible, the instruments are repaired and donated to schools and students in need. If the instruments are too far gone, they are donated to the local art district where artists repurpose the instruments into their projects. Nothing goes wasted in our recycling program.
Kids That Rock
We have established relationships with local studios that provide private lessons and performance lessons for students in a variety of modalities. We provide scholarships for talented students that may not be able to afford some, or all of the cost. This was our first program and we intend to expand to helping fund Summer Camps in 2025.
