Internet Based Radio Promoting and Preserving the West Texas Music Legacy
Another important part that Dirt City Music Association plays in the community is to promote and preserve the West Texas Music Legacy. From Buddy Holly to Phix to that kid that nobody knows right now but will be the next band director at your local high school. West Texas is a shining star in the world of Music. While some commercially known names helped to put this region on the map, there is almost an endless amount of talent pouring out of the communities, colleges, and universities that call the West Texas Desert Home.
Our goal is to launch a fresh new internet based radio station in 2024 that will focus strictly on the music of Texas artists. The station will touch almost every genre of music as we explore the wide, and WILD, variety of music to come from Texas. You'll hear all of your well known favorites, PLUS you'll be able to explore new styles and artists you may have never known existed. The best part, the project will be run by volunteers and supported by the community. We'll be able to run special fundraisers to help support our other community projects as well as maintain the small budgetary needs of running a non-commercial radio station.
